Common Name: Western Sandpiper
Scientific Name: Calidris mauri
Description: 5-5.75 inches; long bill, thick base, slightly drooping tip; black legs; underparts white. Breeding: reddish brown crown, ear patch; heavily marked breast. Non-Breeding: upperparts greyish brown.
Habitat: Mud flaps, seashores etc
Statue: non-breeding migrant; migrant; winter resident
